One UI 4.0 Release Date, Eligible Devices, Expected Features, and More

One UI 4.0 is going to be the big update for Samsung Galaxy phones. Yes, Samsung’s upcoming custom skin – One UI 4.0 will be based on Android 12. Samsung is yet to unveil the One UI 4.0 skin, but we can expect the Galaxy phones will get a bunch of new UI changes, including the new widgets, custom color palates, and more.

Samsung is going to unveiled its third-generation of foldables – the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 in the month of August. And we can expect that the upcoming premium devices will come with One UI 4.0 based Android 12 OS out-of-the-box.

Later, the company will release the latter version to more Galaxy phones, starting with the flagship models such as the Galaxy S21 lineup, Note 20 series, select A-series phones, and more. Back in 2020, Samsung promised to push three-years of OS updates to select Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The Galaxy phones released with Android Pie 9.0 or newer in 2019, comes under Samsung’s three-years of OS updates policy. And as per the new policy, we created the list of eligible devices.

One UI 4.0 Expected Features

Thanks to the Android 12’s new layout, we can expect that the One UI 4.0 will bag some big changes for the Galaxy phones and tablets. Yes, I am talking about the visual changes. Although, it’s too early to speculate about the visual changes as there’s no official information available about the upcoming One UI 4.0 custom, but we can expect Samsung will add the Android 12 functionalities to its upcoming skin.

As per the speculations, the One UI 4.0 based Android 12 update will come some new cool animations (inspired from Android 12), new widgets, theming system, improved privacy with the new Privacy Dashboard, optimizations to the system, along with some other big changes.
